Choosing the Right Certification: Quality over Quantity

In a crowded field of certifications, picking the right one can mean the difference between a legitimate career development and spinning your wheels. It is very important to match your certification choice with your long-term career goals instead of going for trending credentials.  Current Market Trends in India

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, has issued new findings from a survey of more than 9,000 university students and recent graduates around the world. This survey was conducted across India and 10 other global markets. It examines the confidence levels of the respondents (university students and recent graduates) about their career decisions, and their preference for working in that sector. It describes in detail the attitude of survey respondents towards professional certifications, in particular, relating to how professional certifications would assist with shaping their future finance careers.

Out of Indian graduates, 85 percent say that certifications have directly increased their employability or earnings. Sixty-eight percent go further, saying that career progression through the route of certifications is better than through a postgraduate degree.

As per the report made by the Indian Statistical Institute, candidates with certifications are 25% more likely to get a job shortly after clearing the exams.

In 2024, Coursera has seen a fourfold rise in GenAI enrolments in India to 1.1 million, and the country with the highest enrolments after the US. The GenAI content claimed an average of one learner enrolled every minute in 2024, compared to one learner every three minutes in 2023
